A 9-5'er turned DIY content creator. When I'm not tearing down walls and ripping up carpets, you can find me designing and building furniture, watching Marvel movies for the 100th time, and cuddling my goofy Australian Shepherd, Tokyo.
I love learning new skills and obsessing over new hobbies that last a week and hosting dinner parties.

Hi, I'm Maggie

We’re keeping the momentum going and have a big wish list of home renovation projects for 2023! Let’s take a look at what’s on the docket.

Primary Bedroom

In the primary bedroom we are just giving it a clean look. Once we reconfigure the layout, we’ll give all the walls and ceiling a skim coat and a fresh coat of paint. I am leaning towards white walls for now, since I feel creatively drained working on the next two projects.

Primary Bathroom

The primary bathroom will be a BIG project. It will be a mix of contracted work + DIY. I’ve learned my lessons with the kitchen reno, and know my limits! We will be moving the plumbing and electrical so it was time to call in the professionals. We are going for a Moody & Sophisticated bathroom with maybe some wood wall paneling? We’ll see!

Primary Closet

I am more of a drawer gal, and I’ve been living a year and half with a closet that only had a clothing rod. You can say well “Maggie, go buy a dresser”! But I couldn’t bring myself to buy one that I was going to get rid of in a year, so I’ve been looking on facebook marketplace for one I could thrift. I didn’t love any of those options either. Womp womp. On the bright side, since we are reconfiguring the layout it, we might as well do the closet now too! If we don’t get some functional storage soon, it will drive me crazyyyy. We are going to use some Ikea Pax systems for this, you won’t want to miss it!

Guest Bathroom

Once the primary suite is complete, the only other main space that needs attention is the guest bathroom. The tiles are falling apart, the sink is incredibly low. I’m excited to give this one a facelift, nothing too difficult! My hope is for the small bathroom to feel larger!

Guest Rooms

We have two additional guest rooms that we haven’t touched yet. We just replaced the floors and furnished it with some secondhand furniture. We are going to skim coat these walls, give them a fresh coat of paint and then give the doors a makeover and call it done! Again – I’m creatively tapped out 😅

Hallway

Since we are skim coating all the rooms, we might as well skim coat the walls in the hallway as well! Its currently very visually cluttered so I’m excited to experiment with some hidden doors esp with the linen closet and the HVAC closet (will still keep it up to code of course).

Laundry Room (maybe)

I don’t think we’ll have time for this this year, but in the off chance that we have some time, I would love to tackle the laundry/utility/mudroom! We will be introducing soooo much more storage and some fun pop of color!
