A 9-5'er turned DIY content creator. When I'm not tearing down walls and ripping up carpets, you can find me designing and building furniture, watching Marvel movies for the 100th time, and cuddling my goofy Australian Shepherd, Tokyo.
I love learning new skills and obsessing over new hobbies that last a week and hosting dinner parties.

Hi, I'm Maggie

2022 was a struggle for me personally, filled with lots of doubts and uncertainties. But one thing that I am so proud of, are the 4 DIY home projects we completed. Let’s take a look at what we’ve accomplished this year.

Modern & Functional Kitchen

This was the first major project I ever took on. Lots of “firsts” with this on and because of that, it took almost a whole year to complete! So many lessons learned but even better, more skills gained. I’ll eventually put together a blog post on how it all came together and all the mini projects in-between. In the meantime, please enjoy these before and after photos.

Sophisticated & Moody Office

This office did not exist previously! When we moved into this house, this was a formal dining room. It might not be everyones cup of tea, but we didn’t need a formal dining room so we made the room smaller, added a pocket door and turned it into an office. In almost all the homes I’ve visited, there was always a dining table/room that was never used, it was more a decor piece than a functional piece of furniture. We decided with would be better suited as an office as we have two adults working from home in this house.

Layered & Lounge-y Living Room

I wouldn’t say this room is “finished”, I mean what room is?! But I’ll call phase 1 of this room complete. We added a larger sliding door, an additional window, new flooring, fresh coat of paint and a few handmade furniture pieces. We have some more projects in the books for this room, but we’ll save that for Phase 2 eventually.

Intimate & Cozy Dining Area

Instead of the formal dining room, we opted for a cozy and intimate banquette nook. We built a custom banquette with storage drawers. Sewed some custom box cushions and upholstered channel backrest. We couldn’t find a dining table with the dimensions and budget we wanted to we ended up building a table as well. Tutorials to come!
